Privacy Policy
ScreenPortal collects no data. There is no account, no cloud service, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDK. Everything happens directly between your phone or tablet and your own computer on your local network.
How it works
ScreenPortal has two parts: the ScreenPortal app on iPhone/iPad and the free ScreenPortal host app on your Mac or Windows PC. The host streams the part of your screen you choose to your paired device over your Wi-Fi. That picture and your taps, keystrokes and scrolling travel only between those two devices. We never see them and they are never uploaded anywhere.
What is stored, and where
- On your iPhone/iPad: the address of your computer and the device name (app storage), and a per-device access token (iOS Keychain). Unpairing removes them.
- On your computer: the list of paired devices, a short connection history for each, and your portal settings. You can remove a device or clear its history in the host app at any time.
Permissions
- Local Network (iOS): needed to reach your computer on your Wi-Fi.
- Camera (iOS): used only to scan the pairing QR code shown on your computer. Nothing is recorded or saved, and you can pair by typing the address and PIN instead.
- Screen Recording and Accessibility (macOS host): required so the host can capture the portal and perform your touches. They are used only while a paired device is connected.
Security
New devices must enter a PIN shown on the computer, and the computer can ask you to approve each device. Access tokens can be revoked from the host at any time. The connection stays on your private network.
Children
ScreenPortal does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
